As the year draws to a close, it’s normal to search for anything new, such as iOS 18.3, the next operating system update for the iPhone. Typically, bug patches and minor improvements are included in incremental releases; in this instance, they are often features that weren’t included before the year ended.
However, iOS 18.2 broke the trend by introducing months-teased new Apple Intelligence capabilities to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, or iPhone 16 Pro. These include the opportunity to create photographs in Apple’s Image Playground and play with Genmoji, as well as visual intelligence, which is one of the main characteristics of the new Camera Control button. Learn how to install this release right now if you haven’t already (and be sure to build a decent backup first).
When can we anticipate receiving another update now that iOS 18.2 has been released? Planning for the future beta and general releases is well along, and I’m not attempting to be avaricious. (All right, I admit that my desire to use the next Apple Intelligence capabilities may be a little selfish. Is it my fault?

When will iOS 18.3 be made available to everyone?
Given the recent release of iOS 18.2, Apple’s developers are probably resolving any last-minute issues that often arise with big releases. Thankfully, not all of that effort is done behind closed doors: Late in December, the first public beta of iOS 18.3 was made available. Apple distributes its prerelease versions to developers first, followed by the Public Beta programs if the code seems to be somewhat stable.
However, as iOS 17.2 and iOS 18.2 came at the same time a year ago, we may use last year’s iOS 17 timetable as a guide. It’s likely that iOS 18.3 will be released in late January or early February 2025 based on that schedule.
